This machine has 46,000 on it. When the customer made a copy of a picture, you could notice a lot of thin void streaks on one side. I thought the developer might have trash in it so I changed it and it made no difference. I cleaned the lens for printhead and when I found no toner on it I pulled the printhead and cleaned the mirrors on it, still no change. I was going to change the charge roller tomorrow. I am more used to Konica's, than Ricoh, so a second guess would be welcome. The streaks stay in the same place and width on each copy, but you would have to look for it to see it on a text document.

I second the optics as being the most likely issue but also check the laser glass (generally that will give you a more overall weak density when it's dirty). You can confirm the whether or not it's the optics by printing out a test pattern from the sp modes.
It's counter intuitive that dust on the mirrors would give you light streaks, generally dirty optics give dark lines. On this series of mfp's though that is what is a common problem.
Also check the transfer roller.
A dirty charge roll will give you lines....Comment

The laser and the laser glass were spotless. Would not dirt on the optics show up as black lines? These are void streaks. Nothing is printing there. The greatest enemy of knowledge isn't ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge. Stephen HawkingComment

I have had the shutter on the PCU cause white streaks if it isnt being open fully, the pointy bits of plastic scrape the toner off the paper after image forming and before fusing. It could be deformed or the drum shutter gear thing isnt set on properly.
Or could be caused by poor fusing, do the old stop a sheet half way trick."See if you can rent a spring hook and a phillips screwdriver it will make your life that much easier..."Comment
