    Sd card format

    Hello,
    How to format a SD 2 GB card with a MP 4000 ?
    Someone knows the SP?

    SD2 cards don't work. SD cards need formatting as FAT, not FAT32 which you do on a PC, not the copier.

      To format the sd card for Ricoh firmware update you have to use a utility.

        Yeah Panasonic Utility on TSCweb.net that Ricoh shares for that purpose to format SD Cards. 2gb may be too big though.

          It depends on the machine. I use a 2gig card most of the time with good results.

            Ricoh suggests to use SD cards with 64Mbyte. This because when you insert it in the slot all the firmware in the card is uploaded in the RAM of the machine. If the RAM capacity is less than the sd firmware could be some problems. So the SD card capacity could be many Gbytes but the firmware on it must be less than the capacity of the machine's RAM.
            This is the explanation that a technical supervisor of RICOH ITALY gave me.

              I've used the 64mb one from Ricoh and Even a Printer/Scanner SD Card from an old machine before.

                That does make a lot of sense, actually.
