    Ok, I got 60K out of the unit before failure, so the auger mod really didn't make a difference.

I have about 2k on the unit so it's a little early to tell if it will work. I will post an update when it gets to 80K or failure.

      @modding bk drum units to color,there are plenty instructions available in this forum - I think everyone is doing it^^

      @charge rollers

      There are definetly no OEM or non OEM parts available for the charge and/or the cleaning roller.

        this may work on these machines what i do on mpc2800 etc is clean all the coating off the charge roller back to a cream/ white surface then refit and away you go i know it sounds mad but try it on an old unit. normally i will only do this on drum units that fail early this will work

                  I think I found this PPC mob @ Compatible Printer and Copier Consumables | Canon | Ricoh | PPC Solutions Ltd but be buggered if I can find these charge rollers. Im in Aus too so I doubt I could get them if I wanted.

                      I use some PPC products (for use in Ricoh m/c's) and they are very reliable!
                      Drum B070-9510 lasts for more than 700K copies, hot and pressure rollers for AF-700 and AF-1075 are similar to the OEM, i could say just the same! And very cheep...
                      I buy them from a retailler and i will try to get one MP C-2500 Drum kit .
                      My two cents to Aussie's friends!!

                        I look forward to hearing about your results. I have forwarded this info on to my manager to see if we can try these units. Please let us know if you find out any info regarding purchasing just the charge roller.

                        Cheers

                          Have you tried using black PCUs instead of colour? I've heard that this can be done, but I'd ever do anything like that!
                          The black PCU can only be used in the colour bay on the MPC4500 range. The newer models have different wiring, and you will get a message telling you to insert the pcu unit correctly. To fit a black unit to the colour bay, you need to file down the rear connector block to make it fit. The champher is on the opposite side. You file the side with the metal pin to the same angle prior to fitting.
