    2232c colours out of position

for no reason the registration of the colours are out of position, especially the yellow. macine has not been moved or anything. i cleaned the id sensors with no luck.

the code tht its giving out in sp5993-7 is 070707.

    5993-2 execute fails.

tried adjusting the colours manually in 5993-10. manged to adjust some of it but cant get it perfect. line positioning is well out.

whats the procedure for a problem like this?

There are a service bulletin to help resolve that problem.

We have had no end of trouble when those settings are played with. The facts are this - if the machine wont pass the "auto colour registration" and it wont, the problems lie within the transfer assy. You can try new belts and rollers and encoder etc - or simply replace the entire unit and everything will fall back into place UNLESS YOU HAVE FIDDLED WITH THE SETTINGS AS ADVISED IN THAT BULLETIN. Trust me on this. If you do fiddle with the settings make sure you keep the original ones and write them down - because in less than a week you will be back and the colour reg will be out again. You will need to reinput the original values and replace the transfer assy.

Also, clean the ID sensors. They are behind the fusing unit. Do not adjust any SP's in 5-993, this will cause the line position to be altered after a 'Line Position Adjustment' has succeeded. Return those SP's to normal. The values in SP 2-908 will be altered by the machine after a successful 'Line Position Adjustment'.

These problems are usually caused by a dirty transfer assembly. Clean the rollers and sensors.

Try SP5-993-002. Should allow you to execute a line position adjustment. Also clean the transfer assembly, sensors etc...

Tell me you did an NVRAM UPLOAD before you started or at least printed an SMC report?

If the colours are way out of line, the skew mirrors have probably got stuck. You need to enter the minimum value on the rough adjustment then the maximum and keep doing this on each colour until you can hear the mirrors move. If there is no sound after entering the new value then the mirror is stuck. Once they are all moving you can get the colours roughly lined up then do an ACC.

Check the pm life of the Devs, Drums and ITB belt and cleaning unit if miles over they maybe part of the problem. First thing to do is clean up the silver roller the dirt will be harden on so needs a bit of elbow grease and alchol (remember to let dry out completely) I would advice you dont use an abrasive cloth otherwise you will damage the surface which may cause longterm issues. Use a damp cloth on all the other rollers in the itb let them all dry out the unit should look like new. Its worth putting on a new belt dont forget to put on the right way round..
I have found when refitting the belt its worth patting the belt down gentley with Zinc sterate (the setting powder used on 5560cs) or a little yellow toner. It helps the cleaning blade bed in i find..
Run line adjust and acc and most times yuor sorted and the colours are far far more defined I find.

no. the settings is for each machine, and not for all. the fuser, the mirrors, the speed for the ITB, etc... is unique for each machine
