    RIcoh MP C2050 Wrinkles envelopes

Having issues with a ricoh c2050. Machine has 10K total copies.
Customer usues like crazy printing envelopes through bypass, with setting of special 2 and thick 3 settings through bypass. Apperantly it was doing great now its starting to wrinkle the envelope. I check the fuser assy to see if there is a nip to adjust but this fuser dont have no adjustment from what i can see,

Fuser looks great the only thing that i would think could do this is the pressure roller.

Through out my years i had never seen customers using this option (envelopes) on my turf other than basic copying with several types of paper. This is new to me, anybody ever seen this before or any tips.

    Thanks

Either use labels of use window envelopes with the address being on the letter inside!

Yep, just check for other threads on this. Ricoh doesn't have anything worth owning that can reliably do envelopes. Changing the pressure roller may help, but you'll have to do it every 10K . Labels are what I try to get my customers to use (so long as they can print a bunch of addresses at a time, they can't run the sheet through for one label at a time).

Savin/Ricoh not too keen on Envelopes. They have instructions about flaps being in and only Recommend like two brands. The High Quality stuff. Labels is the way to go.

If they moan about not re-using a label sheet, just warn them that using 1 label and throwing the sheet away is much cheaper than paying for a new drum etc and labour charge!

We usually point out that the Product Disclosure Statement that the customer signed says the copier isn't the best thing to do envelopes on and tell them to go and have a good whinge to their Account Manager. To get them off their back to salesman usually gives them a cheap non-Ricoh printer just to do their envelopes on.

Its a win- win stituation, the customer can print envelopes and the price of the solution came out of the salesmans comission!
