    SPC222 SF White Plate Problem

    SP C222 SF (G184)
Just had 5 of these boxes through the workshop and the all had the same problem

    The Problem,
Pale stripe down the copy, most notable in colour in the half tone areas. Only happens in photocopy mode, prints are OK.

    The Cause,
The white plate strip is lifting off the platen glass, darker bubbles are fooling the copier when it scans the white plate as it sets up its ADS reading.

    100_1194.jpgThe Quick Fix,
Stick a strip of white PVC insulating tape under the glass being careful not to cover the black bits or you will get a SC code or the image jumps 1cm to the side.

    A Warning,
Dont be tempted to open up the scan unit to clean the mirrors, if you dont get the cables for the exposure lamp back in exactly the right spot when you put the lid back on you distort the mirrors and blurr the image.

Anybody else seen this problem? Ricoh Oz haven't heard of it.

Hey man what are you trying to say here? Are you asking for help or trying to show everyone how smart you are? If the first one - I can answer. From years of experience I HAVE NEVER EVER SEEN this problem. So you are the "lucky" one. LOL

Err, I think I might have written that a bit better all I wanted to know was if anybody else had seen this problem, I thought guys with more Samsung experience (I think its a Samsung, is it?) would have told me its a common problem.

Perhaps its only a warm climate problem, what part of the world of the planet do you hang out Sakura?

Not sure about Samsung (have no experience on them) but Ricoh/Gestetner/Lanier don't have problems like this for sure.
P.S. I am very close to Olympics now
