    MP2510 Russian C4 Dirty Copies

    Hello,

I have problem on a MP2510 (Russian C4), usually this series of machines are no problem, but I have 1 which is giving us a bit of a fight.
I am getting dirty/ghost image on copies, at first the pcu & hot roller were changed, but then a few days later the customer phoned back with the same fault, we then took a working fuser unit out of another machine from our stores & fitted that, again a few days later we have the same fault ( the original fuser unit we have now tested in our machine & its fine). The toner is ricoh branded as is the pcu.
If any one can shed some light and point us in the right direction it would be most appreciated.

    Thank you

The MP2510 is a Russian C4.5. I've had one do this too. A customer was using Siebel to print out standard templates that had a lot of solid black in them, usually 600-700 a day. The fuser just couldn't keep up with the cleaning. Only thing I can suggest is see what the customer is printing / copying to determine the level of solids. After that, it's a trial-and-error process of upping and lowering the fusing temperature until it stops ghosting. Switching on transfer roller cleaning and fuser idling wouldn't be a bad idea either.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

check if the distance between the ghosting matches to the drum or hot roller to encircle the issue

            Hello,

            Thanks for your input guys.
Its been a week now since I last saw this machine, so I thought I would give an up date of how we fixed/got around the problem.
The toner was sticking to the hot roller (new) after a couple of pages giving a ghost image. After about 7/10 copies it would be OK, until the next warm up. I turned the dev bias up to about -560 (default -650), Lowered the fuser temp a few degrees middle & rear & turned off the "After Warming-up times" 1105-8 & 9 , turned on fuser idling. This seem to do the trick when we were on site last week, & so far no more calls from the customer.
