Sounds like either authentication or a blocking program like Norton or Macafee. Did you turn them all the way off? to test the un and pw, try to logon to the workstation using those credentials.
To check the path, copy and paste it into a Start>Run box.

I've got the same issue on an MPC2800 at the moment. I've also set up hundreds of MP's and MPC's but this one just won't connect even though everything is fine. Maybe we can help each other...

What operating system is it on the server / computer you're trying to connect to? Mine's win2008srv, maybe there's a pattern there?
I'm actually able to browse the network and see all the computers within it, but as soon as I try to browse into the server it fails, even though I've input the correct username. I've even tried the admin-account but it still fails. Is anything of that similar to your setup?
                Peace sells, but who's buying?

                    scanning

If you can browse to the computer, try using fully qualified names. i.e USERNAME@DOMAINNAME or USERNAME.DOMAINNAME. If you cannot browse you might have the wrong computer name you can test that by replacing the computername with IP address. Also NETBIOS over TCP\IP has to be enabled on scan destination computer.

When I said fully qualified name I mean for login.
