    Savin 816/Ricoh 161 Destroyed?

I've got TWO Savin 816s that are pretty much ruined I think. The customer has lifted the machines by the scanner or sat on them. Thus breaking the BLACK PLASTIC SUPPORT ARM for the Scanner, See left side of machine, remove covers etc. We have tried replacing this arm with no luck. The machines print fine, but their Copy/Scan days seem over. Nothing but ghost and lines and haze.

ANYONE GOT ANY CLUE??!?! These machines have less than 60K on them.

They've pretty much had it. You could try replacing the scanner rails, lamp runners, guide rails etc but I think it'd be cheaper just to buy a new machine or use them just as printers. Either way the customer would be getting a bill for two new machines from me.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Yeah I wish, unfortunately. The "customer is always right" catchphrase applies to customers the boss doesn't want to loose or that is his buddies. Those customers will probably have perpetual loaners.
One customer suspects the cleaning crew tried to copy their @$$, the other customer denies everything even though we know they have moved the machine themselves 3 times since it was installed. (its not on a cabinet) So yeah they picked it up by scanner assembly I am sure.

ANYONE SEEN THIS AND BEEN ABLE TO FIX IT?

would you mind to post a photo of the broken arm and the deformed scanner? If we can see the damage, maybe there is an idea how to fix it

Yep Mirrors are firmly clipped. Scanner Assembly moves back and forth properly without hitching.

It looks like the CCD assembly is deformed. Does the ADF look flush sat on top of the scanner?

Just checked both of them, yes the ADF's are square/flush with the Scanner Assembly. It all Looks fine till you take off left covers and see the BLACK PLASTIC Scanner Support Arm Cracked nearly all the way through.
