    savin c3210 blurred leading edge

when copying in color every other page has a blurred leading edge(about an inch or so). the next page is perfect. when copying in single colors the copies are perfect. the blur is only in the black of the full color copies. what could be causing this? please help. thanx

Could be a scanner that is not moving smoothly in the first inch.

The reason the 2nd page is clear is because the OPC/ITB belts hold 2 A4/letter size images. The lead edge of the first image is blurring because the ITB cleaning unit is not fully disengaging from the belt surface at the beginning of the black process. I've only solved this by replacing the drive pack in the rear (B0514807).

I've had this a few times before. I agree with teebee1234 that replacing the drive pack (transport bracket) will cure this. I've tried stripping the unit and replacing the ITB cleaning unit lift clutch, but this never seems to work.

Best use for this machine is a boat anchor!!!!! But the previously mentioned drive assy will fix it until something else goes south on it.

Ugg I know the feeling. We have 2 left in the field. Both of those customers "BOUGHT" theirs and feel it should last forever. We replace the transfer clutch brackets on a regular basis a few years ago.
