    ? Problem solved?

Hey Gang, I am new to this site. But not to the industry, I have browsed several different dilema's that we all deal with as far as copier issues, and like most offered some real world advise, fixes, etc. The one thing I have noticed is that there are very few final replies in reference to what actually corrected the issue. The site is a wealth of knowlage. Posting what did work would be a valuable tool to reference, somewhat of a personal flowchart created by techs (not engineers). Is that an option or is posting the final fix "TABOO" ???

Although I agree wholeheartedly with you, maybe the right place to post this is on the forum dedicated to these matters - I think the Ricoh techies aren't the only ones interested on this.

I also agree that the solution should be posted. I guess there are many reasons, one might be the answer was so simple one is embarrassed to reply, or once fixed, forgotten. Perhaps the poster is a taker, not a sharer..I encourage everyone who has posted a query, to post the final answer.

It oftentimes happens that the person just fixes the problem and forgets to report back to this forum. I'm one of those - It happened more than once that I only posted the solution after someone asking me if I had fixed the problem.

Don't be shy to ask - the worst that can happen is getting no answer.

I'm assuming that, since techs have a more "hands-on" approach to copier problems, they're able to give a much better explanation of how to do something instead of an engineer (being "an engineer" the guy who's at the factory creating stuff and not out on the field).

Oh I see - they mean designers as opposed to field service engineers. To me, a technician is a low grade toner monkey.

Sorry, since english is not my primary language, it sometimes happens that what I mean to say and what comes out doesn't always match.
