Another was an Auto parts Program at a Ford Dealership. PCL5 Fixed that.

One was some weird program. Turned out ONLY the MINI-DRIVER Fixed it.

So phasing out drivers is Ridiculous.

Not to mention Most of my customers that use a BOOKLET FINISHER have to use the RPCS Driver. The Booklet Functions just don't work right in the PCL6. At least not on C3535/C4545/C4040/C5050 they don't.
I agree - I hate to see any versions get phased out. I, too, have had many instances where the PCL5, RPCS, or Mini Driver was the only way to get success.

Think of it from the vendor's standpoint, though. As time goes on, and more and more models are introduced, it makes for that many more machines to write drivers for.

It costs a bunch of money to maintain all those drivers, so it makes sense that support for the older ones will start to slowly drop off.

Ricoh is far from alone in this approach. Most other vendors are doing the very same thing.

    Ahhhh...progress...
