    MPC3000 Username and Password Needed

Okay, client inherited machine and username and password has been changed. supervisor, Admin, etc. all don't work. Tried Memory Clear and it still would not let us in either via the Web Interface or LOGIN button on copier itself. Is there any possible way to see what it is or a way around it?

    Thanks

    Kelly

You must return the machine to it's default settings- memory all clear will not work.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.

NVram replacement is the only way on this breed I think.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        Hit it.

Nooooooooooooooooooooo lol don't try cloning one. You'll have to order another one from Ricoh. Don't try swapping the NVram and controller board from another machine unless it's another MPC3000 either. You'll knacker both boards.

Cut and pasted the knowledge base answer below. The controller NVRAM # is B2309590

              Details [Problem]
The Administrator and Supervisor password has been lost.
              Answer [Explanation]
The Administrator and Supervisor Login User Name and Password can not be reset in SP Mode

              [Action]
              • Replace the NV RAM on the Controller PCB

Do not remove the NV RAM until after you upload its contents to a SD or IC Card depending upon model.
Always touch a metal surface to discharge static on your hands before you touchthe controller board.
Work carefully when you remove the NV RAM, to prevent damage to othercomponents on the controller board. Do not short-circuit the pins of other chips.
On models with more than one NV RAM, chips must always be removed and replaced as a pair.
Be sure the notch on the chip is aligned with properly with the white stenciling on the PCB, do not use the label on the chip for alignment as label placement may vary.

Ok. I got another main board and NVRAM from another machine, works great! My only problem is that the counters are way off due to the old machine. Is there a way to change them to match what the were before?

                Thanks

The counters are stored on the NVram. If you want the machine fixed for good, replace it with a new one.

You could zero out the current meter and add all future readings to the last recorded good meter or use the mechanical counters going forward. In any case, document it somewhere where future techs will be sure to see the change (write it with a Sharpie on the inner cover maybe).

I don't know if this machine does, but a lot of machines have mechanical counters.

                          1. remove the nvram (ont the MCP3000 machine)
                          2. this nvram install the mp 7500 series machine
