have a jam B i can't get rid of. there is a hole on the top side of the fuser cover that the sensor shines in at but it looks like a reflective sensor. I covered up all other sensors on the entire right hand side of the machine and all were recognized, triggering a different jam letter. Should i move forward with ordering the jam b sensor, doth they fail alot because it is right above the fuser unit. thanks t

I think that little hole is what the thermopile looks through to detect the temperature of the belt, paper doesn't (shouldn't) go anywhere near that hole. Does it jam from all trays on all paper sizes? Also, a jam at that sensor should register as C. Where does the SMC say the jams are? It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

This may be a silly question but have you opened and closed all the covers, Ricoh's can be annoying about making sure you have opened covers and looked for the jam - especially the front cover, even though you can't unjam any paper from there. Could also be a faulty/dirty sensor - worth checking out the input values for sensors in that area using input mode as suggested by fearlessComment
