Is scanning to SMB standard equipment, or does it require an option, enabler, etc? By all appearances, scanning to email and PC should be available on the standard box.

If yes, I am assuming that the server hostname/IP, path, and login/password are settable in a destination memory location accessible from the web interface. I haven't seen the machine in person yet, but according to the IT onsite, the scan settings are not visible from the web interface.

Next question, where should I find the scanner destination memory locations? Does something need to be enabled before they become visible?

Last question, if the scan settings are truly unavailable when I get there in person, is there something short of replacing the NIC that can be done?

    Thanks in advance. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

ScanRouter V2 Lite looks like an FTP utility. It it possible that this machine is limited to FTP scanning?

Google tells me there are various versions of this ScanRouter, i.e. ScanRouter EX Professional, etc. Which (if any) are compatible with the AF2238C?

If memory serves you can scan to SMB and email straight out of the box. If you give me an email address I'll send you the scanner reference operations manual.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

this is correct, it has SMB scanning and scan to email embedded.

Here are the setup instructions. The display looks different but it works the same way.

Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

It appears that both options are open.

            Perfect! Thanks! =^..^=

FYI, this machine will even support LDAP look-ups for email and authentication.

As I recall, it was one of the first to do so.

The 22 series colour machines needed custom firmware to scan to Windows 2003 or later servers or on a network controlled by those. You may want to make sure that you have that ready if connecting to share folders is an issue.
