    RICOH MPW 2400

Hello friends i need some informations from you regarding MPW 2400. I installed already the machine without roll feeder. From backside of the machine i saw 2 outlet
one for RJ 45 and one for USB. My question now is, Can i run this machine as a printer
without installing the printer option type W3600, Thank you because im too much
    confused.

The NIB and USB support features are built into the GW controller board. However, these features cannot
be used until they have been enabled with SP5985: to activate set this SP to 1.

The print options that can be fitted are :

Printer/Scanner unit Type MP W3600 (Embedded)

Printer unit Type RW-3600 (External Ratio Controller)

The 1st option would be also activated by the standard SD card (Either Service Slot 1 or 2 ) which I presume, is the option that you purchase for Network Printing & Scanning ...

Sir, you mean to say that i can use this machine now as a simple printer but not network printer. Is this what you mean.

        My apologies,

Firstly the SD Card activates the Print Scan Function on the MPW, then check the SP to make sure that the Embedded USB/Network ports are enabled.

If it doesn't have the Printer/Scanner SD Card in it then no. Many Ricohs come with USB and Network Cards but are not activated.

The USB and RJ-45 connections are standard. They may need to be enabled using SP5-985-1 (NIC) and SP5-985-2 (USB), by setting these values to '1'.

To print and scan you have to add the optional Print/Scan Type 3600 kit, which is basically an SD card and some key tops for the operator panel.

If there are other options to complement the Print/Scan option, then those SD cards have to be installed also. There are only three SD slots on this machine which means that if you have more than three SD based options you have to 'merge' the applications from one card onto another to free an SD card slot. The application move is performed by putting the 'source' SD card in the service slot and the 'target' SD card in slot one, then running SP5-873-1. Once the application is moved from the SD card in slot three to the SD card in slot one. The card in slot three is removed but kept as it is your proof of purchase. Slot three should generally be left vacant for service use if possible, but options will be recognized by the machine if slot three is used.

Press the User Tools button (The one marked "123") If you see "Printer Features" (Or similar) on the screen, you have a Printer card installed.

Go to system settings, select "Interface settings" to input the IP address.
