    mpc 2500 firmware update

Hi guys, i am going to update the firmware on one of these machines and i know that you can upgrade the firmware via the web browser. My question is which firmware do you use, is it the remote one or the usual one?? (there are 2 types on the download site)

If your going to do the remote firmware upgrade you use the firmware known as .rfu files. If you use the SD card use the .fwu files on the card.

Be careful when loading firmware via the network. If a print job is sent or a fax comes through at the same time, very bad things will happen.

Well, the easy way around this is to carry a crossover cable with you. Oh! And a laptop. Other than that... Just stand up in a chair, look out across the sea of people and yell, "No one print to this machine until further notice!"

Joking aside, I have yet to perform this task. I wanted to the other day on a machine that I was working on in house, but did not get around to it. I have a machine that I want to set-up a remote firmware update through @Remote also. The machine isn't that far away and used sparingly so, I figured if something went wrong, it wouldn't be that big of a deal to get the machine going again.

I do all our updates through the use of the SD card method, when applicable. I have a 128 meg card with most all the machines different firmwares on it. This way, I just pop the card in and the machine does the rest. Anyway! Hope everything goes well with your update Leo!
