    [Misc] Upgrade ricoh 551 to 700

    cheers mates,

    I am in production printing and so far working on 2090 & 700, gem of machines!!
    I have few Ricoh 551, I have researched and found most of the parts are same. Can anyone pls guide me to upgrade them to 700, Do I have to upgrade the firmware, have never done it so kindly guide me how to do it

    Don't bother, you will spend more in labor and parts cost then replacing the entire box. Besides all of the boards being different (PSU, MCU, I/O), there are multitudes of individual parts that are different (pulleys, belts, brackets) due to the difference in speed.

      That's the same machine except for speed and they aren't really that far apart. As for that 2090, hope you have some training because they get intersting.

        Nothing different with parts, that only 1 jumper wire can upgrade to af700

          My apologies, when I checked my parts guide, they also listed the B098 (ld055) on the same manual with different part numbers. I assumed that was the 700 (we know what they say about assuming). Any way, what jumper would that be that has to be cut?

            you need to jumper two wires if you still need it i wiil check and send you the exact one.

              Open the back cover, look for the IO Board, behind it , you will see a connector board (A293-5140). Find a four pin connector with a three brown and one white wire, solder the first brown and second brown wire together.
