    Ricoh Aficio 2238c jams

Hello hoping for help on a mach. i am not real familiar with. Cust. says it jams from tray 1. I didnt get it to jam but it was skewing. cleaned an checked all the rollers in the paper path, then worked fine. Now it's doing it again. The cust. says the paper is about 2 inches out the paper feed area and seems to catch on something and is skewed a little. Cust. is 2 1/2 hours away, so thanks for any ideas/help.

Probably the black plastic guide plate on the vertical transport side needs to be replaced. The mylar gets worn/bent and can cause this (G060 2618 Guide Plate:Middle:Lower:Adhesion). I keep one in stock for this reason. It just pops in place, 30sec job.

if the middle of the sheet is skewed, you should also have a look at the sep roller and the torque limiter. Just interchange the rollers and limiter between tray 1 and 2, and see, if the error went to tray 2.

Check the latch on the vertical transport door, if the customer doesn't close it properly you may see transport jams.
