[Misc] AFICIO 1035/45 Enlarged (Horizontally)copies after servicing LD UNIT

    Friends,
One of my fellow techs is facing the following problem. Please give me some guidance .I am reproducing his message below :

I am facing a strange problem with an AFICIO 1035 after servicing the LD Unit.
The client cleaned the glass slit of LD unit and forgot to place it again in the unit(right beneath the Toner Bottle).resultantly Unit started making light copies at front side.
I have noticed dropped toner in LD unit specially front main arc shaped lense and mirror.I have removed both and cleaned.Fixed both of them and make the test copies.
Unfortunately copies produced about 102% /103% horizentally instead of 100% at full size. but vertical magnification is accurate.
Please advise me what should I have to do.

Make sure the LD unit is sitting on its position pins.

It's not the customer's job to clean the shield glass of the laser unit. I personally never remove mirrors or lenses in a laser unit. You can easily introduce errors in the laser unit.

I agree, this problem definitely sounds tech induced. replace the ld unit or take it apart and try to figure out what is out of place.
Don't take that toner with me!

You will need to be a little more precise in you description of the orientation. Is it 103% in the mainscan (front - rear/direction of laser sweep) or subscan (direction of scanner movement). If it's main scan then you probably want to replace the LD unit. It sounds like the tech removed the lenses and didn't get them quite flush back in the frame, they are precisely set at the factory. As Fearless said, have the tech reinspect and make sure the the clips that hold down the lenses are seated correctly on the lenses.
If it's in the subscan direction, you can adjust that with the SP modes.

It's main scan .I have cleaned a number of LD units . specially cleaned front Arch shaped lense(upper side) and Arch shaped mirror ( lower side) .removed and refixed but never got such a problem.
never removed small squaree lense right in front of laser Synch unit and right side up small piece of glass.
It's my 1st experience, where someone else removed and fixed the both Archs and the problem begins.Appearently both archs are at its position.

I 've resolved the issue.checked the mirrors and the the problem was with the lower arch mirror.it was fitted little away from its actual position.About 2mm away.Mirror holder clamps were fixed wrongly. Now the unit is at its ideal state.
                thanking you all for guidance.
