Turns out some of the plastic fuser entrance guides were snapped (probably due to the customer smashing the side door shut) and were catching the paper in the corner as it entered the fuser. I ended up sanding them down to clear them from the paper path and that seems to have fixed the issue for me.

    Cheers for the replies though.

if you run a sky shot and examine the page by unfolding the corner, if once unfolded the whole sheet is black then the folding is after transfer, if the folded corner is white then the fold is before transfer. not a lot of help but will narrow down the cause somewhat.

Is it a sharp fold? That would suggest something before the page reaches the fuser. If it's a loose fold then there may be something catching after the fuser. If there is a bridge I have seen paper catching on the way to the finisher between the exit of the machine and the entrance to the bridge. This was induced by paper curl and I had installed some guide mylar to keep paper from catching.

Ricoh MP2550 - Folding corner of paper?

Hey all, I have a slight problem with a MP2550 copier. The top left hand side of the leading edge of the copy is coming out of the machine folded over. I have had a good investigation inside the machine and can't see anything obvious. I have recently had to replace some parts as the users had smashed shut the side door breaking a ton of parts (oh the joys) but nothing looks out of place now.

    Can anyone shed any light?

    Cheers!
