I would first try a firmware update and make sure set the default language, in this case English which can be set in the op panel. If this is a NA model, make sure you download the correct firmware.Ricoh & Microsoft may pay the bills but Un*x saves my ass every day.

Hi,
today i remove all cables again from the controller, conect all again... remove and reset the nvram and put again. then i went to menu 5807 and i choose 03 (europe). then power off and power on again and no more SC982. but i dont got a sd card with less then !gb, only one with 2gb. there is any problem if i dont flash the firmware to the machine since i reset the nvram?
