You won't hear from anyone here how to do it. Don't ask again.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Man, some people just don't get it. Is it me or do these meter reset requests often come from the same areas, geographically speaking? Wonder why.

I liked the one where you drill a 5mm hole in the counter PWB to let all the copies drain out. I can just picture that pile of electrons pouring out of the hole ...

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I worked for a company abroad that used to clear a LOT of counters.
I remember a Ricoh AF650 that had made about 3,5 million prints in a year. It was cleaned and sold as new.
The new owner thought it needed a lot of maintnance. I was changing clutches, bushings and had to perform a 600K PM two, three weeks after they bought it..
So.. I didn't work there for long. It's not cool to work in a place like that. You feel like you are part of a scam.
The owner of the company and his family did drive nice cars.. they all had a Porche. So I'm sure it can be profitable. At least for a while.

can't drive nice cars if you get banged up, any company scamming the customer this way wants reporting, how would you feel buying a so called brand new car which had really done 50k. mind you, i found throwing a cup of water over the bicu board and counter pwb while machine is swithced on just flushed those copies away from the meter lol

Yeah.. but the customers was more or less foreign hotel chains. They ordered the machines from the main office in for example Germany and the company I worked (a few month) for sendt the copier.
The hotel had no ide what they were getting, and the main office for the chain never saw the machines.

I don't know if the company is still in business - but it wouldn't surprise me. They did make a lot of money.
Hell, if you can sell a copier as new 2-3 times.. you got to make money.

I remember we even ordered new badges for the machine. A Ricoh 1060 became a 2060 and so on..
Then they just hoped the customer didn't enter web image monotor or checked the driver themselves.
The owner was nicknamed sneaky weasel by the other workers

At least I learned some spanish from the job . The coworkers were nice and all too , but I landed another job in Crete doing some fibre optic stuff for a while - so it was a fairly easy choise to change jobs then. I prefer to do a job I can be proud of.

                        counter reset in ricohs

                        hi guys,

dont scream, that people who wants to reset the counters are cheaters....
we like asian country people import a lot of used copiers from western countries
we remanufacture the copiers and put these m/c s in renatls in which case the client is charged per page only , the maintenance is carried out by us.. the purpose to reset is just for a new account only....

winding the meter forward would be a better idea
