O.K. strange one, customer(retired community church) called in for service today(after 5) The problem is that when they send print jobs to the mfp they get 28 copies instead of one. Customer swears that nobody has changed any settings, but she cannot log into her assistants computer to confirm that nothing has been changed because he has already left for the day. How do I handle this one with out throttling someone!(The meds aren't working too well this week)

Silly question - did you have her power cycle (the orange switch) on the copier?

It sounds like something is stuck in memory.

Or it's the print job from you-know-where...

Not a silly question at all. This customer talks to me on the phone only and when she does it is as if I am the hired help
(oh yeah, I am). I don't think she would think of it in her job description to power cycle the machine. Oh well I guess I will just have to use my magic wand to fix her problem in person. Her tone of voice just kills me. okay done venting now.

Unfortunately churches can be some of the hardest customers to deal with.

You are probably just going to have to see the computer. They probably set the default to 28 copies in the driver or something silly.

Maybe it's one of those cases where the quantity got set in the driver and the application.

It depends on several variables, but they could be getting both, like 7x4, or 14x2.

                This sounds like a possibility.

best bet is to set your laptop with cross over cable and print to it ( if you have a laptop) then you can see if it is the machine. If it does it then i would be looking at the HDD and formatting it.
