A day ago I cleaned Thermistors and continuity tested heat lamps and 4 thermostats. Cleared sc544 code in diagnostics, it ran until today. Now am getting sc544 then 3 or 4 seconds later sc990. SC Code Reset does'nt help just happens again. Was going to replace Thermistors (3 day wait). How do I test them? Other suggestions for sc990 was to update firmware. How? Is this going in the wrong direction or is there a simpler solution? Nothing like this in copier history.

Just change the thermisters no need to test them. also if there is toner built up on the heat roller lower the fuser temp a few degrees to around 160. -
The 990 can be related to the HD if equipped or firmware reflash but mostly it may need a new PCU. The PCU is rated at 60K but rarely makes it that far. Just take a look at the drum.sigpic
You never realize how cheap a professional is until after you let an amateur do it.

Go for the thermistors id say most likely, after that swap out fuser for testing if you have a spare you can use.Comment
