Type 1027 PCU compatible with MP2510?

Is the type 1027 PCU compatible in the MP2510 (and aficio 3025 series)? I tried the unit just to see if it would fit. It does and the copies were perfect. I don't want to try it long-term without some advice, but I'm wondering if anyone can advise if they've done this. If it works , it sure beats rebuilding the MP2510 units on site imo.
    thanks in advance.

Yes, they are compatible. Our techs who work on those machines use the 1027 PCU vs rebuilding. The PCU for the 2510 usually can only be rebuilt 2-3 times before the gears and seals are worn out and need to be replaced, anyway.

It works perfectly, even better than the MP Series but theres one problem, next guy in will be stuck on rebuilding.

it works but ricoh isn't giving you any warranty for the PCU because it's not an "official" PM part for the machine (at least here in europe). I think the new "to-rebuilt" PCU are a step backwards -- if you play it by the book it is gonna be more expensive.

Thanks guys! Glad to hear it. I had a feeling that may be the case, but it never hurts to ask first. And also, I'm not too worried about the next guy in, because I'm the only guy in the company...lol

I may have got my models mixed up here but, if I'm right, you should do a dev initialisation when fitting this PCU to the machine.

The older machines did this automatically when the "flag" on the rear of the PCU was detected in the down/up position (I forget which now) but these machines do not detect this.

I had all sorts of double-imaging issues some time ago when I did this and it turned out to be overtoning. Running some skyshots through and then initialising the dev sorted the problem out.

on a slight side note :

mp2851 pcu - looks like a complete pcu with the handle but can be rebuilt.

my problem was the whole pcu i ordered did NOT contain dev? so it just filled the dev unit up and pi**ed toner all down the side of the m/c like a fountain nearly half a toner bottle. Rioch is looking into it but be carefull if you order one.
