Ricoh 2550 can't scan to smb

I have set this machine up to scan to several pc's on the network but i have one that i can't connect to, i have tried program destination/input the ip address and both browse network and connection test fail, i have disabled the pc's firewall, pinged the machine to ensure a good network connection, but i can't connect this damn thing. Any ideas? Running xp sp2.

Are you using the computer name in the path? I had one recently that would not work until I used the computer ip address instead of computer name in the path. The customer IT said that it had to do with their router and just made those computers have a static ip instead of dhcp and all was well.

If possible I would try to connect this pc straight to the machine and bypass their network to see if there is a network issue. I realize that is not always an option. I can't think of anything else off hand. Good Luck! Let us know what you find.

can you at least ping the computer from the MFP?

maybe there is some other security software running in the background. You can also try to access the shared folder from one of the other computers to see what happens from there. Last chance is to use Scan-to-FTP instead - the customer won't notice the difference if you install a tiny FTP server (e.g. filezilla) on the clients computer.

So, it is working fine scanning to several other pc's on the network and it just has problems connecting to this one pc?

I'd feel pretty safe saying it's not the 2550 and probably something with the one pc. Can you see this pc from another pc on the network?
Try enabling netbios over tcp/ip, found under LAN->properties->TCP/IP-> properties->advanced->WINS->enable netbios over tcp/ip.

            Can they upgrade to SP3?

Does the machine have the latest firmware? There were a lot of changes regarding scanning. I don't know if any apply here but it
              couldn't hurt.
