Does it have the mod drive bracket? I know you said black only but it looks like the cleaning blade is dragging. Hence the bracket mod.

The clutch, which is responsible to lift the cleaning unit, tends to get slippery

      1232clutch.jpg

      It's part nr.:6
      AB04-0020

replace it and all should be fine

We replace the whole transfer drive assembly now, the clutches didn't seem to be lasting very long when replaced on their own. I'm not saying that Hermann is wrong though!

Sry, Jomama, but i'm in need to correct you. With a little experience, you can change the clutch in lower than 30 minutes:

            1 remove pcu
            2 remove back panel
3 loose and swing out the controller box
4 remove retaining ring of the shaft, where the clutch sits on
5 open side door, grab the excenter and gently pull it until the clutch comes loose
6 hold new clutch in place and push the shaft back into place
7 put all back together and have fun

I am not offended, but I would rather have a sharp stick in the eye than gain any more experience or exercise on this dog.

Dog poop on a stick in the eye is more like it.

I'm sorry that I can't be of more help but I'm in the process of erasing my memory.

The Aficio 1232 ranks with the Ricoh FT5560 and the Olivetti 2000 on my list of badly engineered office appliances.

If it helps at all, your trouble is a clutch that moves the ITB cleaning unit.

Good luck & don't bother to reply.
