    3355 adf misfeeds

    Hey, All
I have an A293 with multisheet feeding in the ADF. This ONLY occurs on the last 3 sheets of originals in the stack. It feeds like clockwork till gets down to 3 sheets. Reverse roller, belt, PU roller and torque limiter have been replaced. One way bearings and shafts are clean and look to be in good shape. Lift plate is aligned correctly and is working normally. I'm leaning towards the electromagnetic sep clutch as the culprit. Any ideas on this one?

Too late to edit my original post, but the clutch I was referring to is called the feed clutch.

Feed clutch would not casue multi feed. Given all the parts replaced I would look at the lift plate. The harness down below is short and may be binding. Also I have seen the ADF frame warp and cause lift plate problems.

X2 on the lift plate. the harness can get stretched over time and cause problems with the lift plate.

Thanks, guys, that makes sense. I'll check out the lift plate area on Monday.

All right, I've narrowed it down to the lift plate motor, the original sensor harness or the ADF PCB. I ended up swapping the whole feeder out to get the customer back up and running (to much downtime is hard on an account). It's hard for me to find parts for this old machine, so it may be a while before I know exactly what component was malfunctioning.
