These can work themselves loose sometimes, just enough for the connector to make fully on the rear of the dev unit.
Try modifying it - I glue a piece of feed roller rubber to the front so that the holding bar applies more pressure to the unit.
Alternatively, there could be toner in the female connector on the rear frame of the machine.
I tried to put a spacer in and even hold it so it wouldnt move but it still gave me the code. I removed the connector from the machine and cleaned it as well. any other suggestions?
Thanks DA
Thanks for the help. Can I use a ricoh developer unit or does it have to be Lanier? Does the developer unit come with developer in it ? It almost looks user replaceable.
THe part number for the Cyan DV unit is: B180 3002. It comes complete with Developer and will fit ricoh, savin, or lanier machines. Be sure to do the new unit set, SP5-995-XXX(the last three will be a number just for the cyan unit).
Hi there,
What was the resoloution for this problem?

They eneded calling KM who was the ricoh dealer. They are waiting on the conector at the back, I checked it and am not convinced that it will be the fix. Apparently the tech plugged in some kind of test device.
Thanks.
