    savin 2535 add staples indicator

installed new staple cartridge on 2535 when needed to. Now add staples indicator light came on and will not got away and stapler will not work. Is there a reset I need to perform? If so cannot find it in the manuals i have available to me. Does not seem to be any staples jammed in anywhere either.

Usually this is the stapler harness but can also be the stapler unit.

Check the cartridge and this "staple refill thingy" inside. Get it out and check if there is something left from the sealing. You can also try test the staple plate movement mechanism of the cartridge manually (I think there is a pawl thingy on the bottom on the cartridge you can trip a few time to see if the staples are moving).

x3, check the bottom of the cartridge, there should be an actuator on a pivot the drops down when the staple strip goes over it, which in turns contacts a switch within the stapler unit itself. I've seen ops knock them out a few times when the don't know what they're doing and start jamming pokey things in there. The harness is also a possibility, but less likely.

It sounds silly but if you check with your sales department, they can probably source used SR790 finishers for less than $100.00 each.

Oops. I replied to the wrong thread but it's still true.
