Wondering about the ricoh color transfer belts

I'm wondering if the older transfer belts off the ricoh 2228/2232/2238c work on the next series up the ricoh 3228/3235/3245c? Has anyone tried interchanging those? I believe the older belt part number is G0803780 and the newer belt is B1803780.

They are the same size but the newer B1803780 belt has a reflective positioning mark on one side.
So I guess you could use the newer transfer belt on the older model, but not vice versa.

I've used the b180 belt on both machines for years, but as cipher says the newer machine needs the reflective strip to work. So the older belt won't work on the newer machine. not sure about the cost difference of the two parts.

I had some overstock of the old type tranfer belts and it is no problem to install it on the newer machines even if the reflective strip is missing. You'll just have to disable the "dancing control" sensor via SP and the machine will work fine without it. Never had any complaint or color-reg issues due to this.

It is great to hear that I can use the same belt!!! The b180 belt cost is $140, and the G080 belt is like $80. what a rip off!!! the belts in reality sould be $20 and $21. You know a buck for the silly sticker... hahah.... Hmmm maybe I should just put on silver sticker Hey has anyone seen and aftermarket version these belts??
