Aficio 2035 - Black edges with rotate sorting

Hi! First time poster, long time reader here...

Anyway, I have this problem with a refurbished Ricoh Aficio 2035. When I make copies on the machine using the rotate sort and double sided functions the third, fifth, 7th, etc etc bundle will have a black / dark grey background on the top and bottom edges of the page. Regular copies and normal sort works perfectly.

I already changed the transfer belt/ cleaning blade, which actually made the problem worse ie: the background became more pronounced. I also made sure that the transfer unit itself was perfectly clean and no residue was left on the rollers.

Since that didn't work I tried folling around with the transfer voltages in the service mode, which did made the background a bit lighter for a few copies, but I put them back to their default value.

Dev and drum have done around 40K copies so I assume they are still good.

Before I start changing high voltage boards / controllers is there anything else I should check?

    Thanks!

ps: sorry for the bad English :x

How long has it been in days / months / years since the drum and dev was changed? They do wear out after a certain amount of time, even if they've only done a few copies. Blades will become stiff, mag rollers can become demagnetised, allsorts. Try a re-dev and PCU rebuild and see how you go from there.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Like TonerMunkeh said : do a PM on the drum and dev. And, the English isn't so bad, it could be much more worse when you read some of the posts here...

From memory I would say about a year or so each.

But if it's the dev / pcu, wouldn't all the copies have at least some traces of background? Just wondering.
