    SPC231SF Fuser Issue

We have 5/6 machine with fuser broken.
Teflon film is going to scratch or remove. In ricoh part list there is only complete fuser... more than 500 euros...
Any clue rather than buy a new spc220 (the cheapest one) for fuser and starter toner.

    Thanks a lot

The whole fuser is the only available part I'm aware of. These things are absolute crap, most customers I've had to quote a new fuser for have ended up replacing with a MP171 and are much happier overall.

I think they'd have to improve to be considered crap, actually.

I have a customer with a boatload of "normal" MFPs, but also a small spattering of these little gems.

They called a few days ago, with IT stating that they can print with direct IP, but not with the IPP that NetWare uses, Of course, they have an all NetWare network. They can print using NetWare just fine to the SP232SFs they have.

Turns out that the SP232SF supports NetWare, but not the SP231SF. I found this by looking through the product support guide for each.

Unfortunately, they a a very cheap desktop color machine, unlike the MP171, which is B&W.

I'm suggested to the salesrep to get MPC300s when they come out; a bit bigger and more expensive, but a much better box, and won't cost an arm and a leg just to get a color print.

I know that's cheap machine but sometimes it's good for some kind of customer.
MPC300 would be at least 10 times more expensive..... for less than 50 color pages months won't worth it.
So there is no solution for fuser?
        Il buy a new printer.
        Thanks.

You get what you pay for.

This machine is a POS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more often than scratched fuser is a flat spotted fuser ! You still have to replace the fuser. It's not a Ricoh machine....go figure. See my other post on this POS: http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/ne...ner-reset.html
