i have never come across this kind of fault before. when a customer prints a full colour picture, it doesnt seem to print any black on the pictures when doing full colour but the txts is fine and prints perfect black. the customer sent the same print job to a samsung machine and it printed perfect. i then asked the customer to print from another computer to the ricoh and the outcome was the same. black missing on pictures.customer performed acc and colour registration with no joy. switched machine off and back on. no joy.i then asked the customer to print something off the internet and black was still missing on pictures.if you photocopy a full colour picture on the glass then it would copy perfect with black. this is only when hes printing.

I think I've had something like this before. In printer features there's an option that says "memory priority". Change it from Frame to Font. Also, has the Ethernet Speed been changed from Auto? Try changing it to 10mb full and 100mb full, just in case the machine's dropping packets from a very complicated print job. What driver is the customer using? PCL6 possibly (it's Satan's driver)? Try backstepping to PCL5 if that's the case, if they're using RPCS, try the same again. Also, long list I know, make sure they're using the correct driver appropriate for the version of Windows they're running. Failing that it's a printer option clear and firmware update methinks. It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

What version of windows are they running and are they using or have installed the universal print driver? I have experienced many strange printing problems when this is installed in Vista and 7.Ricoh & Microsoft may pay the bills but Un*x saves my ass every day.

How does the ACC sheets look like - are the blacks still there on all ACC patterns (1 copier 3 printer sheets)?
You can try to reset the printer option the factory default, started with the user tools (hold "#" and hit "printer settings" within user tools). If that doesn't help I'd go to reset the machine within SP (print all SMC pages before and perform a NV Ram backup).
And yes, check the printer driver. Some time ago I had an MPC6000 with color printing problems. It turned out that some clown installed a Kyocera driver for this machine. It's also worth trying to print from the own notebook with a direct connection.Comment

Sounds like a driver issue, i would re-load print driver first. does it have postscript? is it a pdf you are printing by any chance? firmware couldn't hurt either.jesus loves you! (everyone else thinks you're an assh*le)
