    Rico1515mf SC320

Client says they took out a jam, then after they heard a "pop" and smelled electrical burn. Turned off and on and this code came up.

Could a jam removal fry the Laser?

    Thanks

If they have knocked out or damaged the thermistor, then yes.

it's the toner suppley tub fan motor front or rear.
Replace the ventilation fan (at the left side of the machine)
          motor-front or rear.

SC320 isa polygon mirror motor code. If it won't reset, replace the mirror motor. it could be just coincidental timeing of jam and mirror motor going out. Although, i have never had one go "pop".

              From the service manual :

              Laser synchronization error
              The main scan synchronization
detector does not detect the laser
              signal for 0.5

              Possible causes :
              Toner bottle not installed

              Loose connection between the LD
              unit and the BICU

              Defective cable between the BICU
              and LD unit

              LD unit out of position

              Defective LD unit

              Defective BICU

              Thermistors? Fan Motors?

This is a Laser Unit Error!!
