    mp161 smb issue

    i have connected up a mp161 at the shop scanned to smb to workstation, no prob, get to the client's lap top
    test connection ok, go to scan and i get a connection failed.. i set up my owne laptop and router samresult, test ok, but connection fails, i tested it on my pc at the shop not the lap top, but i use this lap top all the time. any suggestions?

      Whar is the OS on the Client's computer? W7 has had some smb scanning issues.

          Oftentimes new versions of Windows SMB protocol require a new firmware on the machine for it to scan successfuly. Is the machine's fw up to date?

          Other common causes are firewalls - check if there isn't any or, if there needs to be one, that the propper permissions are given.
