    Ricoh 3713 service mode troubles

I am also known as DHK, and asked yesterday for a way to get into the service mode on a Ricoh 3713.

I received a kind response from "Fridgemagnet" that walked me through the sequence (as shown in my Intravia's). However, for some reason, as soon as I let go of the final "Clear/Stop" and hit "Print", it just goes out of service mode and gives me a copy. I even tried holding down "Clear/Stop" and hitting "Print", but with the same result.

    What am I doing wrong?

I get the "dot" after pushing "71" and then "Clear/Stop" -- but after my next "Clear/Stop" the "dot" goes away. Never do see the blinking "5".

    Thanks again.

That confirms what is supposed to work, but what do you do if that sequence doesn't get you into the service mode -- like it should?

      Thanks

It's been about 7 years for me...

          Turn ON dip SW101-2.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Sw 101-2 gets you into service mode immediately. Simulation 97 is a reset for fuser codes. Since you have not specified what you're trying to do, a fuser reset may not be pertinent.
