    [CQ] Aficio 700 WhiteLines

    Hi there,

cq problem seen in the attachment, viewed only in tones of grey. Skyshots are perfect.

Horizontal white lines (same for all copies, mean steady, not variable).

Already Replaced : ccd - polygonal miror - laser diode - bicu pwb - drum assy - dev assy - corona assy - tr.belt assy.

Already lifted machine's scanner and cleaned all mirrors inside laser unit.

Problem remains as it seen in pdf.

Please spare me answers like replace m/c.
I realy use to solve every "phantom" problems even on old analogue m/cs.
Even with a little help from fellow engineers.

    Thanks a lot
    GeorgeK

Are the lines there before the paper enters the fuser? The reason I ask is a long time ago I remember an issue similar to this where the fuser would actually repel toner off the paper statically as it entered. It wasn't as severe as this and probably not the issue, but something to check. Is your example a copy or an actual engine test page? Does it do it on both? If only on copies then I would also replace the exposure lamp (uneven brightness?).

You've seen correctly. This is an ipu test. Problem exists on copy, smc printouts, ipu tests and printing from pc. So optics, I assume is out of cause, although I cleaned them as long as the white level bar.

I've seen a similar problem caused by hairline cracks in the rollers of the transfer assy, but you say you replaced that. Was that a new assy?

all assys' mentioned from a working m/c, not brand new. But even so, the problem should change a bit...

(Now that you mentioned, similar problem is viewed on konica minolta c6501)hairline but causes thin color lines...

Can't open pdf so a bit of a guess. Once had a similar sounding problem on same m/c turned out to be the cable that runs from laser diode to controller. Like i said though bit of a guess

Have you cleaned the doctor blade?.... Oops, you changed the dev unit!?... or just the developer?

It's been years since I've had to get down & dirty on a 700, but I seem to recall there's a foam seal behind the laser slit glass above the DV unit that deterioates and starts hanging threads that block the laser path.

After lifted scanner, got laser housing on a desk, cleaned, this (ex) foam seal too. Thanks for participating. If I wasn't so curious about it I'd shoot the m/c, why not client too.
