[Error Code] SC 582 Aficio MPC5000

Hi The service handbook says to replace the IH init relating to the above error code,
I think it may only be the thermoswitch built into the IH coil unit.

Anybody any idea if this can be done, or do you have a fix?

Almost certainly you have the thermopile damaged.
It happened to me and I change the IH.
Apparently not seem to be a simple task (reaching that thermopile), but it worth a try (much cheaper)

The manual says :

- Defective IH Invertor
- Defective IH Coil Unit
- Defective Fusing Unit

I would first replace the IH Inverter, that's the easiest thing to replace. To replace the IH Coil Unit is not an easy task. You'll have to strip the whole machine to reach it.
