    Paper Size Tolerance

What is the size tolerance for A4 paper?

I have a customer with a MP4500 that is constantly jamming using their letter head. The letter head is about 1 millimetre short in both directions and my question is that enough to be causing the problem? Regulation paper goes through fine. Misfeeds mainly at vertical transport off (from memory).

Have you tried this paper in another machine to see if it feeds. Also, I have a customer who uses preprinted perforated invoices in a Russian. They had troubles with them and a simple fanning of the paper seemed to solve any jam problems. Out of interest, these pages are about 1mm oversize and it doesn't seem to bother the machine.

    Good luck

Where did this off sized paper come from?

Try setting the EXACT size as a custom setting the see if it still jams. If yes, it may be the makeup of the paper or setting power / residue on the paper from the litho printing process. Clean the rollers and see if the paper runs for a few copies to confirm.
