[CQ] MP 6000and 6001 Developer failing early

I am a tech from a large Minnesota dealer. We have almost 90% of our mp 6000 series machines to mp 6001 machines over toning and the developer fails extremely early. Anywhere from 30k to 220k. It blows toner all over the front door of the machine and the lip in the pcu is filled to the brim. Also this causes the Drum and Blade to fail early. We have tried Dev units, firmware, Nvram Clears, BCU boards. With no luck at all. Wondering if anyone else is seeing this issue and if there is an idea someone is trying. Thanks for the help guys.

Do you use the original toner? BTW, NV-RAM Clears aren't the solution for this kind of problems. When the customer is placing the toner incorrect, toner blows over the front door.

Toner blowing on the front door can be the classification assembly on the top front end of the dev unit, the mylars inside fall off after a while and it cant move the recycled toner fast enough.
Check the recycle gears, they get full of toner and can skip (although you would hear a grinding noise). Also worth totally stripping and cleaning the pcu recycle path to make sure it is working smoothly.
When you say dev is failing do you refer to the toner on front door and in PCU ? on these machines the dev is pretty good and as long as the mag rollers are cleaned when its changed you should get 300 to 600k before things start to look a bit light.

As a rule the MP6000 /6001 runs at least 300k and sometimes as high as 450K before the dev causes a problem! Are you running with OEM toner? are you following the correct installation procedure? The machines come with the "modified" setup on a sheet taped over the op panel. The "SP" machines are pre-commissioned at the factory and have the dev installed, so, If you shut the door and boot the machine you may cause an incorrect dev setup and overtone the machine from new. This may result in the problem you describe.

I would say that bar the MP1100 / pro 907 series, the MP6000 / 6001 is the most reliable machine Ricoh has produced with regard to dev problems, so it's very odd that you should have these issues. I would look very carefully at your initial setup.
