    Missing Magenta on MPC 4000

    Hello

i'm having a problem with a MPC 4000.Yesterday the maschine shows a SC397 Drum/Dev. motor error Magenta. i changed the drum motor and the development clutch.
I restartet the maschine and it goes to Raedy, no SC shown. I tried to make the ACC, after the selfcheck the testpattern is printet but without magenta and no SC Code.I also changed with another Machine the PCU Unit no changes .

Maybe one of u have a idea

    thx Kyokushin

Check the two white drive gears in the frame behind the pcu.

I would stop the machine during printing a full page (e.g. A3 size) magenta pattern - then check the units to see how far the toner-image goes (or not). Maybe it's on the drum but not on the transfer film - maybe it's not even on the drum. You also might use a marker to paint a dot at the drum and dev gears to find out if they are turning during normal operation (not only sp test program).

You can also try to interchange two color PCUs (maybe you have to swap the front caps and remove some plastic at the bottom side of the DV unit).

I had faced the same problem with MPC 2550 - Magenta color missing (faded). Then after inspecting the usual procedure of toner quantity in the development and the Drum life, (everything was fine), finally I just removed the Image Transfer Belt Unit, cleaned the contacts and re-installed it. It worked!!!
