    Ricoh MPC2500

    Hi,

    Can anyone help I have a Ricoh MPC2500 when i switch it on it just keeps running saying please wait and m/c just turns over as if it was set to free run. Anyone have any ideas thanks.

    Sounds like the HDD's gone.
    It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      I agree on the HDD- on most Ricoh products, you can unplug the HDD and see if the machine will come to ready-you will have limited function, but at least it will show you that the HDD is bad or corrupt.

        Disconnected Hard disk fault still occurring also now i have sc681-01

          if it is not the HDD you can also try opening and or disconnecting peripherals (DF, Finisher, LCT, etc) one at a time and rebooting to see which one is flaking out. I had a c2550 that did the same thing and it was a pinched wire in the internal finisher.

            Try a new black toner cartridge first. The chip on the toner cart isn't talking to the reciever in the machine. If that doesn't do it, try the RFID board.

              Tried Black toner infact replaced all toners no good. Where is the RFID Board situated on the m/c,

                  In the manual it's in the toner hopper1 section item #1. It's on the back of the copier where the end of the toner bottles are. You'll see a long skinny board going across the toner supply drive unit.. that's it.
