Seams like it is everywhere.
With 161 the PCU reached 70k, 80k but now... when they make 50k it is very good. Meaby the developer isnt very good... or the parts are chenged.
I think you should take the lot nr. and complain.
This PCU are made to work at least 45k prints... so if it doent... you complain

I think the model of the device is not related, on both machines is the same type of toner and drum unit. Maybe just a poor-quality drum unit. Can the client in your case prints on 171 on one sheet in the job and the machine every time makes cleaning cycles that reduce the resource drum unit.Comment

Hi guys are we not jumping the gun here. SC500 is a motor error probably too much load somewhere have you tried to check the PCU manually, remove it from machine see if it turns freely is the fusing unit operating nicely without any problems? I've a customer with one of these machines and within a week they had done almost 12000 copies find them to be well behaved machines.Comment

Hi there!
sc-500 is very often no motor or PCU problem. The driveshaft wich operate the PCU is often inoperable throug dirt, "hardend" grease....
Cleaning it & Oiling it with silicone-based oil will do the trick. Also a problem on the Russian-Series!

I've never had this problem with these models. If they're OEM then you should warranty them. Check with tech support for any calls they've received on this issue, maybe there was a defective run during manufacturing and only affecting certain markets.Comment

I would second teebee1234 never had this problem on these machines from the 1515 right up to 171.Comment

Further to my other post in this thread, I have seen a couple of these PCU's fail to automatically initialize dev when a new unit is set. I think they may have been knocked around in transit and the contacts on the drive gears are already disconnected. Also everyone Ive seen lock up the drive has had toner spilling everywhere.
We have sold loads of these lately, I hope I don't have to become a warranty returns expert.I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. ~Thomas EdisonComment
