    Not Accepting IP address

I have a Lanier/Ricoh MPC 2050 that appears not to be accepting the IP settings. I can enter the settings, and they show on the display, and on the config page, but do not show on the network settings print out, which remains as 11.22.33.44 I have reset the NCS, and started again, with no change. I can ping to 11.22.33.44 from my laptop and get a reply. Could this be a NV ram fault, or is there another answer. The problem only appeared after the customer changed the modem. I was using a cross over cable direct from the laptop, to isolate their network, but no change.
    Thanks.

You have to first set the IP to fixed, not DHCP, OK that, then secondly change the IP address. OK that one.

How are you turning it off? Button on top or switch on the side? I would only use the switch.
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

do the button then when it quits blinking do the switch. Been burned too many times buy customers improper shut downs. Back up the NVram and do 5801-1 and try it, if it doesn't work you can restore the NVram. If it works re enter all the non default data form the BC or print the non default data and config page before you begin.

Try changing the settings with no network cable plugged in. Let the machine enable the settings, then connect. The are numerous firmware updates for this model relating to network / printing / power issues, I would make sure ALL firmware is up to date.

Cross cable the thing; access via browser; login as ADMIN goto security settings and check if there are any certificates, if so delete them, also check if the IT guys limited the IP range there are four setting that can be setup to limit access to the machine; if so type in 000.000.000.000 and then apply. It would be helpfull to us if you could post a config page. Good luck.

Sorry for the lack of response, but the machine is in a remote area, and I don't have ready access. Have tried to clear the NV ram 5801-1 and 5801-11 but made no difference. I shall try the latest posts, and also post a config page. Hopefully should be in that area this week. Thanks for your support, I have installed a loan till sorted out.

Sorry if what I'm about to say sounds basic, but this happened to some of my colleagues:

Following Jomama's post, you need to use the OK key three times.

                  So:

                  - Set it to Fixed IP
                  - OK
                  - Press the IP Address key
                  - Set the IP Address
                  - OK
                  - OK Again

This last OK is what saves the whole thing onto the NVRAM. If you press the Back key, the machine will not memorize your IP address.

                    Yes I have done that
I don't mind the basic, as sometimes that is what is overlooked.

I've had the same issue with my Ricoh mpc5501 and have resolved it.

I simply formatted the HDD drive using engineers code 5837#

The printer then took and retained the inputted static IP address

Great!.....We'll be sure to load that into the time machine and send it back to 12 years ago when this thread was started!
