    [Jamming] Mpc5000 fuser jamming

    Hi

We have many mpc5000 m/c's out, and some are having this trouble with constantly jamming around the fuser.(wrapping around orange roller) Now this only happens on full colour, b/w seems fine.

fuser only done around 100k, tried changing orange hot roller and the strpper metal plate. but still paper manages to stick and wrap around and under metal stripper plate.

this m/c is still new. The only other thing i can think of is we some times use parsia toners.
this one has a magenta one in....could this be the issue.

    all ideas welcome
    thanks

it can be the toner but you can try to copy with single color only to isolate if the toner(magenta) is causing the problem.

I'd start by checking that the media being run is suitable and approved for the machine. Make sure it is NOT ink jet paper. Also, if you're running non OEM toner, does the manufacturer have any specifications that need changed on the machine for it to run reliably (fuser temps, transfer voltages, etc)? Personally, I've yet to find a non OEM toner that works all the time with out issue of some kind. Also, if you're color images are heavy coverage, you will be more likely to have paper wrap around the fuser. If you are having this issue at multiple locations and there are no common factors other than the toner, you're issue is likely with the non OEM toner. Good Luck.
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.
Samir: No, not again. I... why does it say paper jam when there is no paper jam? I swear to God, one of these days, I just kick this piece of shit out the window.
Michael Bolton: You and me both, man. That thing is lucky I'm not armed.

Hi, I thing that I have the same problem with MPC4000?! I can't solve the problem. When I check the jams they are only no. 19 (fusing exit sensor ON). I check all parts around fuser and exit unit but it looks good. The BW works ok, but full colour doesn't. I have 5 this copier in one building but only one makes me problems. I change complet fusing unit with other copier but no result. So fusing u. is ok! Next time I will check toner and colors? We will see?

use a flat blade screwdriver, insert and twist on the ends of the sep guide plate so that it sits closer to the roller surface. its quick, easy and dodgy (ticks all boxes)

Try setting paper media to middle thick in the user tools paper settings for the tray your using, it will change fusing pressure and slow machine down, sometimes works, and you can set it back if it doesnt, worth a try.

You can adjust the guide plate of the fusing unit (the plate before the paper enters the fusing unit).

its usually non ricoh toner, if you do change back to original toner you will need to change all the devs and possibly the pcus, trust me, we had a high volume customer who had those problems, after carrying out the necessary work the machine ran well.

Adjust the leading edge margin to 5 or 6 mm

                          That helps.

You can test it with the testpattern 19 in fullcolor when you make minimal 10 pages.

Adjusting the leading edge is low effective.

I make around 150 pieces of MPC4000/5000 and I haven't anymore trouble with this fuser jam.

We have this prob all the time. The problem is the fuser cannot handle anything with a full colour leading edge. You will also find that it will wrap around the orange roller if your paper is moist regardless of paper orientation. There is no fix for this only slight mods you can do to minimise. You need to adjust the leading edge as someone else suggested above and then adjust image in Sp4010 to suit. The other thing you also need to do is to fix your client and get them to print A4 landscape when printing anything with a full bleed leading edge. Ricohs fix was to upgrade the mach with a new fuser. You will notice that the Mpc 4501 has two fusing exit guides one on each roller.

Use better grade paper or feed sef. Love this fuser section design. It lasts forever compared to 02 and 03 series but it has this problem.
