Ricoh 1515mf side to side off

Hi everyone, I'm having trouble getting the side to side adjustment correct for duplex copys. A single copy from the glass is perfect. A duplex copy using two single side originals on the glass produces a copy where side one is right on the money but side two is shifted to the left a quarter inch. Adjusting sp1 002 006 moves side one( the good side ) off. Adjusting sp1 002 001 moves side two. when I get side two to match side one so it makes a good duplex copy, my single side copy ends up off by a quarter inch! I have done this many times and can not get it right. Am I missing something? thank you for any ideas

Could it be the duplex margin adjustment in user tools (usuallly default at 5mm on most machines)? which i always turn to 0mm.
Networking skills are advantageous but use of a 3m vacuum cleaner is essential

        Duplex Margin
You can specify left margin on the
back side of copies, and top margin
on the front side. Select [Top Margin] or
[Left Margin], and then set the required
        value.
        • Top Margin: 0 - 50 mm, 0” – 2”
        • Left Margin: 0 - 50 mm, 0” – 2”
        Note
        ❒ Default:
        • Metric version: 5 mm
        • Inch version: 0.2 inch

        (from copy reference guide)
