if you are using the PCL6 driver 0r a universal driver, switch to PCL5e. Also switch to LPR port. queue name LP or print.byte count enabled.

Print out the config page to see what drivers are enabled (some only have rcps)
Networking skills are advantageous but use of a 3m vacuum cleaner is essential

Some don't even have that. I've a nasty suspicion you can only use a GDI driver on this machine.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        Hit it.

On Ricoh's website it has a pcl6 and pcl5 for DDST. What is DDST? This may be a stupid question.

ddst is a controller type, as opposed to GW architecture

also this pcl xl error is a known PCL6 driver issue

DDST is like a non-GW controller for the Stella and Kir. I think the crappier Diana's have a version of it too.

Been working on the B039's for years and didn't know that. Learned something new today. I guess it wasn't too stupid of a question.(My formal training on this model was being handed a manual and told "you now work on these, too")

I've algo got a customer with that issue printing from certain documents - the printout will come out fine but, at every printjob's end, it will print that exact same error. Since the job is unafected, it would be nice to, at least, disable that error printing.

I couldn't pinpoint the source yet because when I got there, the problem had been gone for a couple of days. But I suspect it will come back.

                  EDIT: It's on a MPC2051.

                    Try:

User Tools / Printer Features / System Tab / Print Error Report to OFF.

Did that when I went there - it was already off.

Change the driver to PCL 5 and your issue will be solved. XL drivers use a slightly different command structure which interprets perfectly good commands into something goofy.

That solution isn't very appealing since it is a customer with a lot of computers - unless I suggest to replace only the affected ones. I'll try that.

Ive had this issue with many customer found that this was a driver setup issue. Customers IT did not setup the accessories tab correctly on the servers print cue.

All i had done was print out a printer config page and made sure the accessories that were attached on the MFD were the same as what was setup on the printer cue under accessories and the XL error print job did not print out.
