    Ricoh 2238c

    Hi Guys,
I have a strange problem on this machine (printing and copying) where when i do a colour print the trailing edge has a band (approx 5mm to 10mm) of black on one page , then yellow on the next, cyan on the next and ...magenta on the next. Unfortunately i have no samples to show, but any ideas as im stumped!!

Sounds like a residual image from the line position. Make sure all of your paper guides are good, and that the users aren't putting used paper in the machine (just in case).

You might need to replace your transfer belt cleaning blade.

Its a solid band, and appears on the trailing edge, it seems like it has been written there, not from lack of cleaning, the id sensor result is 010101 so cleaning should be good.

Its very strange that its a different colour solid band on each copy.

I ran across the exact same thing a couple of years ago, but seem to recall it was only when printing, and it was caused by a paper format mismatch or at least a driver issue. You sure this also happens when copying?

Update! The problem was fixed by replacing the bicu board (the one where the laser plugs into) Thanks for the suggestions.
